 OREGON  HEREFORD ASSOCIATION

45TH ANNUAL

SPRING SHOW, SALE, AND SOCIAL

Another year has passed, ending one decade and starting a new with many up and coming things to look forward too. Learning from our past mistakes and building on our accomplishments we look forward to what this new decade brings us. Although there are many uncertainties with many things in life there is one thing that is assured; we raise and breed the most incredible animal that has been tried and tested for decades. With all the issues in many of the other cattle beef breeds you can be proud and excited to be a part of the Hereford breed. Our 2009 spring show and sale was a proven statement for the breed and times; with a concerned national economy the Oregon annual spring show and sale was a another success, contributing to that success was the aggressive northwest junior activities and the new and improving breeders search for new genetics. The Northwest is a leading force in the Hereford cattle industry; from the show ring to the quality commercial operations west of the Rockies. This year will be no exception with top breeders consigning cattle from five western states, and an improved junior show. The 45th Oregon spring show and sale will be held on March 28th at the Albany Expo Center in Albany, Oregon with the junior show on March 27th.

Dear Oregon Hereford Women and Oregon Hereford Breeders and Juniors,

My goal for this year is to put together a Hereford cookbook so I need all of your help. We are aiming to have this project done and for sale at our Spring Show and Sale. Not only do we want to have a cookbook but also a memory album of the great Hereford Breeders we have in Oregon. We need 300 receipes to complete our book and we need these by February 1st. Also we would like a brief summary of your ranch or farm, your brand, photos from your family of everyday, shows or even include pictures from photo contests with herefords involved. We are looking for cute sayings and poems. With this please send as many receipes as you would like. Also if there is any artist (including Kids) in our group please send us your drawings releasing them so we can print them. If you have any other ideas please forward them to us. Together we could make a great book, please remember the February 1st date!

Thank you,

Lisa Forester
