The 2007 Show and Sale was a tremendous
success, Oregon’s sale topping west coast with a $ 2,681.00 sale
average, zero no sales, and a sale commission of 8.88%. Thirteen
of the animals that were sold were purchased by junior members
from Idaho, Washington, and Oregon including the top selling
heifers. The changes to the event were evident to those of you
who joined us in the past. Our weekend has become an event
with displays of equipment and merchandise relating to farming
and ranching vendors; to western art displays.
Our junior
show has grown consecutively over the past years with 103
Hereford juniors and jackpot entries at our 2007 event, paying
out over eight thousand dollars in cash and awards to the
Hereford juniors and jackpot exhibitors, our sale brought
consigners from California, Idaho, Oregon and Utah and buyers
from as far as Oklahoma.
This year our consignors show and sale will
be held on Saturday April 19 this will allow any successful
junior buyers to show there newly purchased heifer the following
day in the junior show. We also have been fortunate to have
great financial support that allows us to provide a $500.00
dollar rebate and a $250.00 rebate to any junior that purchases
a heifer and places supreme and or reserve supreme champion at
the 2008 junior show following on April 20. The
